Isabella (Bella) Moore wants to be a well-known and respected lawyer like her father, Dante Moore, who has never lost a case. However, obtaining her goals is proving difficult, as her father and his partners only give her the easy cases to work. Alexander (Alex) Rossi is the boss of an underground mafia family who needs Dante Moore’s help to defeat his rival, Lennox Maritz, and put him behind bars for the rest of his life. Dante wants nothing to do with anyone connected to the mafia and refuses to represent Alex. Bella attends a charity gala at the Saint Apollo Gallery, where she hopes to network with potential clients to help her reach her goals. After a man holding an automatic gun appears on the stage, Alex helps Bella escape the ensuing chaos and leave the locked-down building through a secret exit. Bella thinks they are now safe until someone starts shooting at them. Why are they being shot at? Why was Alex at the gala? Will Alex defeat Lennox? Will Bella reach her goals? Will Dante change his mind about representing Alex?

Forbidden Mafia Affair by Angela Storm is a romance crime thriller full of suspense and adventure. The magnificent character development provided support for each of the characters. For example, I could easily envision the beautiful Bella, who lacked the confidence most people think all beautiful women have, but her strength and intelligence were prominent throughout the storyline. Then there is Alex, an extremely handsome man whose commands and authority are always obeyed and respected. In contrast, Lennox’s evil personality and brutality make his followers act out of fear. I appreciated Angela Storm’s forethought to make text messages within colored frames to make them look realistic and stand out from the rest of the narrative. Each chapter focuses on a certain character and their point of view, so there is some repetition, which can be distracting, but in this case, the author has skillfully woven it in to make it work.

Although the torture scene was disturbing, Angela Storm did a fantastic job of revealing the victim’s fear and pain and the torturer’s enjoyment of their cruelty. This is just another example of the depth of the character development, so it did not affect my rating of this book. The only thing I disliked about this book was the plethora of errors I encountered, and this was the only flaw I encountered that justified my removing one star and giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. I would have given it a perfect score if it had been professionally edited because of the positive aspects discussed above. I hope to read more of Angela Storm’s books because I enjoyed reading this one so much.

This book is appropriate for mature fans of the romance and crime thriller genres 18 years and older due to the descriptive sexual content, the gory torture scenes, and the non-borderline profanity.

Sometimes, it is in trying to protect someone from danger that you expose them to more danger. Bella had a fire that Dante and his partners should have added fuel to. Instead they tried to dim her light by giving her small cases. Now she has to find a way to defeat Lennox. There's big drama unfolding here.

This review paints Forbidden Mafia Affair by Angela Storm as a gripping blend of romance, crime, and suspense with rich character development. As a prospective reader, I find the premise of Bella Moore’s struggle to step out of her father’s shadow while navigating a dangerous world quite compelling. The high-stakes nature of Alex Rossi’s mafia dealings and Bella’s attempt to rise in the legal field seem to set the stage for an intense, action-filled story.

I would like to read the read the rest of this book. It has a striking beginning. The romance between a lawyer and a mafia... more like romance between law and crime. A perfect blend mixed with danger and intensity.

Isabella (Bella) Moore’s journey to becoming a respected lawyer in "Forbidden Mafia Affair" sounds captivating, especially with the intriguing dynamics between her, her father, and the mafia. The suspenseful plot and character development, particularly Bella’s mix of strength and vulnerability, seem to create a compelling narrative. The contrasting personalities of Alex and Lennox also add depth to the story, and the unique formatting of the text messages is a nice touch. It’s unfortunate about the editing issues, but it sounds like Angela Storm has crafted an engaging read overall. This definitely seems like a book that would appeal to fans of romance and crime thrillers!

I would love to read this! I'd be on the edge of my seat the whole time that I was reading it too, the excitement and thrills, and the forbidden love that it entails makes me want to read it even more. Picturing an alley that they escape to from the secret exit, and a chilly night is where my mind went, where their love first began to blossom possibly turning into hot and steamy nights, and bringing people together or tearing them apart. It leaves a lot to the imagination.

I appreciated the fact that the review stresses the author's thorough character development. Indeed, these "Mafia" hese stories can be very dull and repetitive, lacking depth, or intense and fascinating, alluring and enticing. What makes the difference is the way the protagonists are brought to life by the story.

The concept of romance and crime in a story is always mind blowing.
Bella Moore doesn't want to come across as the girl strutting under her father's shadow.
She wants the world to know that she got the fire in her.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the character development, especially Bella’s complexity and Alex’s commanding presence. The unexpected chaos during the gala raises questions about Alex’s motives and the dangers surrounding Bella. Their escape highlights the tension between Bella’s aspirations and her father’s disapproval of Alex’s world. The narrative builds suspense around whether Bella can achieve her goals amidst these threats. This review sets up an intriguing story filled with conflict, ambition, and unexpected alliances that will keep readers engaged as they ponder the outcomes for each character involved.
