Definitely a PEN! Sometimes I grip too hard and if I'm using a pencil, it might snap! LOL :)

I like to write with a felt tip or easy flow pen. Preferably black. If I am marking sheet music then a sharpened lead pencil or pacer.

Sadly, i agree with some others in the forum that my keyboard has replaced my pen or pencil. But if I lost power, and couldn't use my computer, definately a pen!

Both have their ups and downs in terms of correcting what's been written and also sharpening pencils vs running out of ink in a pen.

Pen. Black ink. No ifs ands or buts lol. Then to the keyboard for revising.

I prefer pen. The are much more finer, and they suit my writing. Some people say I write in in 'medieval writing'. And I'm only 15.

Pen and notebook for bursts of creativity...keyboard for writing and definitely for editing...and editing...and editing....

Little Flower Petals has an interesting post about the permanence of pencil:

“At one point I was worried about using pencil in notebooks I wanted to keep around for awhile, just because it’s erasable. But I got to thinking…*unless* it’s erased, pencil is more permanent than pretty much anything, and the chances of my notebooks experiencing heat or humidity are a lot higher than the chances of a stranger armed with a Pink Pearl breaking in while I’m out and going to town on my old journals. I’m probably safe to use pencil.”

I prefer pen with skipping a line while writing so that I can add notes in later.

Pencils smudge too easy.

I prefer to write with a pen if I want to keep the paper neat and be able to see what I'm writing for a longer period of time. Pencil always seems to rub off and gets dull over time. Although, my handwriting is neater in pencil than it is with a pen.

Honestly I find it a hard decision.
I find a good sharp pencil to be so grounding and inspiring.
It seems more personal than a plastic pen. Sure it needs to be sharpened every couple hours, but it's wonderful when you sharpen it and are just renewed with determination and excitement to keep writing.
However, a pen is convienant and smooth, a variety of colors waiting to be pressed to paper. It has a certain weight to it and presses you to continue. Even if you have to scribble out all of your mistakes.

For writing, a keyboard. Things just flow easier and faster when I type. A pencil feels comfortable when I write notes but I like the color of a bright blue pen. It looks happy when I write with a blue pen.
