From the first page, Alex Hiam drew me into Silent Lee and the Adventure of the Side Door Key. This young adult fiction consists of around 120 pages and is a quick read. Some of the vocabulary is advanced, the word exigent for example. However, the book would still be suitable for middle school to high school children, as there is no profanity or adult content.
Well, introducing some advanced words is the only way for young readers to broaden their vocabulary. I think, as long as the story is captivating, they won't mind having some difficult words here and there.
It seems like a great YA read! Thank you for your great review!

The originiality of a book also serves as a plus to me, especially because it influences my choice towards reading the book. Thanks for the review.

This is a fun story for young teens and young adults. Silent, the protagonist, is a smart 14 year-old who is smart and has learned to be self-reliant. Her mother is the villain and treats her poorly. Silent has spent most of her life with her Aunt Gen. Her mother is absent most of the time. Thanks for the great review on this book.

I tend to feel too old when I write about this type of novel, so it's good to know that its fictional world of magic can be enjoyed by not-so-young adults as well. Thank you for your great review!
Ciao :)

An amazing young adult fiction novel "Silent Lee and the Adventure of the Side Door Key" by Alex Hiam, which follows a young girl, Silent, who need to rescue her Aunt Generous in the modern world. The clean and magical adventures make the book appealing to me.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
