It sounds like this is an interesting children's book filled with attractive images. Thank you for the review!

Dear Knight,
I don't have kids and I don't think this book is for me (except for the kid inside of me) but I do appreciate the effort you put into reviewing it (and your individuality at wearing your crown) but for what it's worth, I almost got this book on your review alone.

It certainly has a clever premise and who doesn't enjoy a good LOL?!
It's also good that you wrote your review with parents in mind as you "warned" them of the "grade 9-10 reading level". It demonstrates what kind of reviewer you are to actually have taken the time to do that bit of research.

I may not read it now, but I have the feeling it will
POP into my memory If I ever find myself surrounded by a bunch of bored, cranky kids with time on their hands. Yes. Even stranger things than that have been known to happen to me.
And, BTW, ... Salmon. A cross between pink and orange.
My favorite color!
You were just dying to ask. Weren't you?

Well done. Looking out for your next review or maybe just a plain 'ol recommendation.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee
And they sang a new song saying,
"You are worthy to take the book,
and to open its to seals,
for You were slain and have redeemed us to God,
by your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and Nation." Rev. 5:9

Your colorful review is quite entertaining! :lol2:

The author added a very personal touch by incorporating her own name into the story.

You also brought up an excellent point by noting that the text contains words well above the reading level of the target audience. I agree that this is intentional; it is meant to encourage parents and/or educators to get involved and explain the story.

The teacher in this story sounds like the type of teacher we all wish we had. The use of some longer words is a great teaching point between parent and child.

It was a good book. I guessed the author reached her goal. It would be interesting to have a book with a similar storyline but using the idea of different colors to tackle racism.
To read or not to read? That's not even a question!

"What's Your Favorite Color?" is a children's book about Amber, a girl who is tasked with wearing her favorite color and painting something with it in class. The teacher, Mrs. Lassiter, sets up a day of mystery and artistic expression, with students borrowing paint colors and assuming they are theirs. The book is suitable for parents, educators, schools, librarians, and students in grades 1-3, but requires adult assistance.
