Review of Jade’s Writing Journey: Beyond the Blank Page
If one continues to only worry about the obstacles before them, they might never discover how incredibly able and sophisticated they are at solving such problems. And if they continue to feed their fears and allow other people's opinions to dictate how they go about their goals or activities, they might never really get anything done. This is how most people get stuck and lose control of their lives and destinies.
In the children's storybook, Jade’s Writing Journey: Beyond the Blank Page, written by Joycelyn B. Robinson, we read about Jade's struggle with creative writing. It's clear the girl has a promising future and yearns to write stories and share them with people, but then she is held back by fear and self-doubt. The result is that nothing gets done: her writing material remains blank, yesterday, today, and perhaps forever—unless something drastic and decisive is done.
As children grow and make sense of their environment and realities, both within and without them, or try to figure out what they are good at, they are faced with a plethora of challenges. In this case, our main character is faced with doubts and a fear of the unknown. Her stagnancy during these difficult times shows how dangerous such challenges can be to both childhood and adult lives if left unresolved.
Jade's decision to reinvent herself is inspirational. Her positive affirmations, attempts at creating a glorious writing future and bringing it to the present, her discoveries, and the shift in her mentality and physical output are remarkable and impactful. Jade's personal adventures and empowerment are crafted to match each letter of the alphabet, which I found to not only be really creative but also make the reading more fun and influential.
Considering the aforementioned merits, the error-free text, the bright illustrations, and the absence of any complaints, I am delighted to rate Jade’s Writing Journey: Beyond the Blank Page 5 out of 5 stars. I recommend it to every child.
