I would personally appreciate reading a book on how a young child can outline things beyond their control and grow up to be holistic individuals. Thanks for the review.

How will Lea ever deal with the pain, frustration, and separation from her family when she must spend the summer with a stranger? I look forward to finding out. Congrats on the BOTD.

Excellent review! This book definitely looks like a fascinating read, and I look forward to reading it before passing it on to my daughters. Lea seems like the type of character many pre-teen girls can relate to, especially those dealing with the situation of separated parents.

This sounds like a great book. I’ll pass on it since I’m not part of the target audience, but I do hope that Lea’s parents work things out. Thank you for your thorough review.

It is intriguing what mystery a twelve-year-old girl will uncover to transform her over the summer. Congratulations on Book of the Day!

This seems like an amazing story. Lea is an interesting character, that has to go through her parents' divorce. Not only does she loses her family in a way, but also loses her Friends too. Poor Lea, she's the only one who loses everything in this story. Great Review by the way!

It sounds like a good book for anyone struggling with these types of issues. Being sprung into a situation not of your making is always hard. Then, you are separated from everything you also hold close to you. It would be a struggle for sure. Great review.

This book sounds like a very interesting read. Even though the targeted audience is for tweens and pre-teens, I feel (as someone in my 20s), that I would enjoy reading this book. The young childlike simplicity of the story, along with the plot of coming-of-age and the tribulations of growing up, make it seem comfortable enough for older readers as well. Great review!

This sounds like an enjoyable book for young adults. It may be relatable to teens going though similar experiences.

This coming-of-age book is very relatable. Managing your teen years while dealing with the emotions of your parents' divorce is a challenge faced by many young people. Thanks for the great review.

'Official Review: SandPeople' by Cheryl Kerr well focuses on the theme of the book of the protagonist's transformation over the summer! I like the way in which the reviewer relates the book to larger issues in the review! The point that the book is precisely the type of middle-grade fiction that allows readers to dive into the mystery of the past, imagine the possibilities, and put themselves into the search for answers is worth mentioning in the review! Also, the point that the author blended the historical elements into the story without making it dry and boring is remarkable for readers in the review! Nice to learn that the author uses the protagonist's struggle with change to paint a beautiful picture of what it means to grow up and adjust to the unexpected nature of life!

It's a pity that Lea's parents decided to separate for the summer. To make matters worse, Lea would be separated from her brother and has to live with an aunt who is a stranger in her life. Thanks for your wonderful review.

This coming-of-age story involving "a bit of history, a sense of mystery, and a few ghost sightings" is definitely a nice book. I like it that the author has created perfect scenes that allows imagination to roam free. However, I'm not a fan of this genre. Otherwise, congrats on the BOTD.
