I like this book because of its subject matter. I am a dog lover, and letting kids get a glimpse into the life of a rescue dog and all that entails sounds educational and a rewarding read. Taking care of a dog requires responsibility, so for young kids to read of this and see it in a book is important. Too bad about the grammatical errors since it is for children. Good job on this review.

Lovely review!

A children’s book should always be written in such a way that kids are able to read it themselves. It helps encourage reading and doesn’t rob the joy of reading from them. This book seems to handle that bit beautifully. The grammatical errors are unfortunate though.

This sounds like a wonderful book for teaching children the responsibilities of having a dog. I'm just disappointed that the sample didn't show much other than the title page and copyright.

This sounds like a great book for children who love animals and need to be exposed to non-fiction text. Thanks for the interesting review.

Thank you for this review, nicely done.
I agree that children do love animal stories and this one sounds adorable with a dog named bear and real dog pictures. I was sad that the Amazon free portion did not give anything on it except the title and cover information. If I had children in this age group 7-10 I would surely get this for them.

A puppy that thrives on positive attention and affection...... nice. I'm a dog lover and I agree that children loves stories about animals. According to the review text is simple and easy to understand, with only a few sentences on each page, to me this makes it great for kids. And it's true that more artwork/illustration should be added since children loves colorful illustration in books. Amazing review.

I love the very brief overview of the book. Pointing out that the dog was a rescue dog adds a point of interest for many pet-lovers. The review gives a feel that the book is more for an older child as they don't need a lot colorful illustrations to keep them interested. So I appreciate the heads-up warning on that. This book, based on the review, gives the notion that the book is great for a teacher or parent reading the story to children or a child but not necessarily for a younger child to read to themselves. My daughter is a reader but lack of color would definitely make this one a "non-pick" for her.

I love the story already and ive just read a review. Being apart of the dog lovers community i also love that the dog (bear) thrives from attention and affection. This story sounds like it will be a good childrens narration im just struck by the fact that there arent many pictures for children to be able to imagine what they are reading.

Based on the review this sounds like a great story with lots of heartfelt emotion. I also love the fact that the book sounds very sincere and expresses the author’s love for this rescue dog. I personally have 4 rescues myself so I can totally appreciate the journey described.

Writing a children's book about a reacued dog is a great idea. It encourages children at a young age to have a heart for dogs that need a home.

It is sad that the sample hardly showed anything. From the review, it is clear that the family love Bear. Children learn many lessons from having a pet.

I wonder what makes Bear a spiritual dog.

Thank you for your review! I'm a sucker for dog stories and have a rescue dog myself. I don't have kids yet, but when I do, I'll be happy to add this book to my shelves!

Kids love animal books and by the sounds of it, this one is a really cute one for them. I can't truly say how I feel about the book because the sample was pretty nonexistent. Errors should be cleaned up so the kiddos can learn proper grammar.

Thank you for the great review! It definitely sounds like a good book for children and can be really meaningful for those who have ever experienced having a pet or dog in real life that their family treated like a real family member. I would love to see the photos of Bear.
