Feelings of neglect and abandonment, especially when the family cares for one child at the expense of another, are something that adults sometimes do not understand directly.
Beautifully written

I appreciate your comments, Lorna. Thank you.Lorna Kimondo wrote: ↑22 Jul 2024, 11:41 The manner in which the book addresses the complex task that parents have to perform when taking care of a sick child and meeting the emotional needs of their other children is heartening. Great review, can't wait to read When Zacchy Got Sick.

Thank you, Alissa. I found "When Zacchy got Sick" on Amazon Canada. Amazon Canada in turn went through Bearablebooks.com . It is no longer available on Amazon Canada but you will probably be able to order it from Bearablebooks.com . It is an Australian company. I had to wait three weeks before getting the book. I will take a look at and reply to your review of "First Survivor". Take care.Alissa Nesson wrote: ↑23 Jul 2024, 07:13 Thanks for another great review, Gerry! This sounds like a valuable tool to help children deal with their feelings about a sick sibling and the extra attention they require. I just reviewed a book called “First Survivor” about a three-year-old with Neuroblastoma, and it touches upon how the child’s brother was feeling about the situation. He could have used a copy of “When Zaccy Got Sick!” I was trying to find a copy of this book several weeks ago and couldn’t find it online! Where did you find it?

It seems that quite a lot of families share the same experience as written about in this story book. This book can help a lot of children look at these traumatic events with a proper perspective.

Alooma, thank you for reading and replying to this review. I appreciate your feedback. This children's book is excellent and deals with a rare topic. I hope you continue to read and reply to my reviews from time to time.alooma id wrote: ↑27 Jul 2024, 07:55 This review of "When Zacchy Got Sick" by Meera Randeria highlights the book's ability to help children understand and cope with feelings of abandonment during a sibling's illness. The story is well-written and beautifully illustrated, effectively portraying the emotions experienced by the sibling. The book receives a rating of 5 out of 5 stars and is suitable for children aged 3 to 7. It appears to be a highly recommended read for families dealing with similar situations. Overall, this book seems like an excellent choice for addressing the impact of a sick sibling on a young child. Captivating dialogue, brimmed with authenticity.
