Unfortunately divorce is something that’s so open these days and the children suffer as well Lea seemed to feel the wrath of this while having to spend the summer with her aunt and going through mental health issues is also something that is very open as well glad to see a book that is about real life things makes for a good read especially for the younger generation let’s these youngsters know they are not alone in situations like these

SandPeople follows Lea McKinney as she learns how to handle her new life. A separation, an unknown aunt, and even ghosts will keep readers entertained in this coming-of-age story.

This book is a tale of coming of age. Suitable for readers in the upper middle grade, ages eight to fourteen. Instead, the plot focuses on Lea and her metamorphosis over the summer, rather than on her parents and if they will reconcile. In it, Lea is shown resolving her conflicts and gaining an understanding of her aunt. These scenarios are useful, in my opinion, since they show how to grow from mistakes and make the most of circumstances that were dictated by parental preferences rather than personal preferences. Good read and interesting BOTD.

'The story does not focus on Lea's parents and whether they will get back together; instead, the focus is on Lea and her transformation over the summer.'
I'll like to read about Lea and her transformation through the summer.

I am a great fan of historical fiction, but even more importantly, Lea's struggles sound so real and I am sure many readers will relate with them. The book is on my to-read shelf, and I definitely look forward to reading it soon.
Thanks for the review, @Erin Dydek.

I really appreciate how the story captures the bittersweet feeling of growing up and dealing with changes that are out of our control. Lea’s journey is relatable, and the mix of adventure and self-discovery makes it a wonderful read for anyone navigating that in-between stage of childhood and adolescence. The setting and historical elements add a fun twist, too!

I completely agree with your review. The story is relatable and engaging, especially for upper middle-grade readers. Lea's journey through a difficult summer is well-portrayed, and the historical elements add an exciting layer to the narrative. The writing is vivid and immersive, making it easy to get swept up in the mystery and adventure. A great read I'd totally recommend.

I would love to read this book to see how Lea managed to survive from her being detached from her family. It’s not never an easy thing to deal with so I can actually relate to her pain. Thank you for your honest review.

Thank you for the review. I read the sample. Young readers' hearts will go out to Lea finding her parents are separating. She has to spend some of her summer vacation with her aunt, whom she hardly knows. There is a surprise in store for Lea that will make her vacation memorable!

Lea’s story seems real and touching. Dealing with family drama and being stuck somewhere new sounds tough, and I’m curious to see how she finds her way through it.

This book tells a story I'm sure won't be pretty much a good experience for any family, infact any young person. when marriages breaks, the offsprings oftentimes is the worst hit. I'd love to learn what becomes of lea.
