The story cleverly uses the unlikely friendship between a donkey and an ostrich to challenge social norms, making it a powerful metaphor for inclusivity and acceptance.

Just like Grover and Steve, you don't need to be of the same country, religion, race, or tribe before two people can make great friendships. Nice review!

Your review for the book, The Unique Friendship of Grover and Steve, was very detailed and well explained. I read the sample and really enjoyed it. I like the fact that it has a nice message for kids. The illustrations really caught my eyes too. This is a definitely a book I would read to my nephews and nieces as a bed time story.
Thank you.

Looking beyond our differences and forging great friendships and connections is the mark of true humanity. This is the key theme of "The Unique Friendship of Grover and Steve" by Lee Cherry. It follows the life of Grover and Steve who are determined to maintain their friendship against all odds. The story encourages respect for other people's identities and teaches children invaluable lessons on celebrating the beauty of being courageous in the face of mockery, criticism and isolation.

The friendship between a donkey and an ostrich must be an exciting one. I'd love to see what they offer each other.

This is a book that teaches us to overlook our differences. While a children's book, many will learn a lot from a well-crafted piece like this. I will definitely read "The Unique Friendship of Grover and Steve" by Lee Cherry.

I don't think this book would be something I am interested in because I don't have young children. However, the story premise of standing up for your beliefs is a good message.

I also think that teaching children the importance of friendships, that we're all equal despite our differences, is really important. Thanks for the review!

Personally, I am not into children's books, but it is never amiss to teach kids to value a person's character and personality instead of out-of-control factors like circumstances of birth. Congratulations on BOTD!
