My favorite bedtime story was Corduroy by Don Freeman. This is a story about a teddy bear in a toy store waiting for someone to buy him,the only problem is he is missing a button on his overalls. A little girl wants him but is turned down by her mother because of his missing button. Corduroy then sets out on a mission to find a button so that the little girls mother will approve of him.

Hmmm, this is going to take some thinking. I think that we had a book with all the common fairy tales in it and I used to enjoy that. I especially liked the Princess and the Pea. I mean imagine all those mattresses. I would have a party jumping on them :)

Frog and Toad. I recently saw the book and was a little tweaked out by the artwork, I now find them a little creepy! However, I did force my mom to read that to me for many, many nights!

I loved the cover of Mother Goose's Nursery Rhymes when I was a kid. It was the picture that told me I was about to be transported into another world! :D

I don't remember books that were read to me as a child. Right now I love reading Alphabet Under Construction by Denise Fleming to my girls. They are starting to memorize the story and can help read it along the way.

I used to adore Enid Blyton's work, especially the Magic Faraway Tree series and the Wishing Chair series. My grandmother used to read them to me when I stayed at her house, and I cannot wait for my little girl to be old enough to listen to them so I can experience the magic all over again =)

My favorite book is Love you forever by Munsch and McGraw. It is one of the most powerful children’s book I have ever read. This book shows how powerful love is and what it is able to withstand. It shows the unconditional love of a mother for her son and vise versa. It show that no matter what, love is patient and kind.

I read quite a few of the Berenstein Bear books, as I was never one to sit and read the same book over and over each night. There was enough variety in the subject matter that I was quite happy with any of the series.

I loved the Berenstain Bear books too!
As an adult, I still make my mom read Twas the night before Christmasto my brother and I on Christmas Eve in the spirit of tradition. It has to be a specific version, though, but we occasionally make do with Jan Brett's because the art is gorgeous.
I remember one of the last bedtime stories my mom read to me was Carnival of the Animals around early middle school, and my favorite when I was little was Little House in the Big Woods by Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Goodnight Moon was my favorite bedtime story as a child. The relaxation behind the words transitioned me from my energetic self to a sleepy child. Of all the things mentioned in the book, I always looked forward to spotting the balloon in the room. While I was a teacher in a preschool center, I also enjoyed reading this book to my toddlers right before naptime. It is a classic and continues to be a favorite.
