[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Bennys Brave Adventures - The Gift of the Green Bandana" by Hong Z McCormick.]
Benny's Brave Adventures: The Gift of the Green Bandana is one of the many adventurous books crafted by the author Hong Z McCormick. As the title suggests, this children’s book is about a green bandana gifted to Benny.
The Shadow Serpent, a powerful ancient creature, had awakened after many years and cast fear in all the forest animals. Upon hearing and recognising the grave danger, Benney resolves to take action. But the sole way to defeat the mighty creature was the Emerald Heart on the other side of the forest, where risks accompany the path. Can Benny the little bunny face all the hazards all by himself? Can he defeat the mighty serpent? By whom and why is he gifted a beautiful green bandana? There is only one way to sprinkle water on the fire of curiosity—by turning the book's pages!
In addition to the beautiful story, the book consists of a lovely poem, the ‘Get Your Own Benny Bandana Free’ page, a letter from the author, Bunny Jokes, and a page dedicated to Charlie the Chipmunk and the Rabbit Binky.
Many features stood out to me and made this book truly enjoyable. To begin with, I am in love with the beautiful storyline and the vibrant illustration that would surely attract kids towards it. The writing style is both eloquent and easy to understand, making it perfect for young readers to easily follow along. I also appreciate the size and colour of the font used to write the main story. Finally, the book was well edited, as I couldn't detect even a single error in the entire book.
While there wasn't anything I disliked, I have a couple of suggestions for improvement. Firstly, the dark page numbers on the colourful illustration pages are not clearly visible; hence, the usage of white or any light colour for the purpose would be appreciated. Additionally, I would suggest using a darker green colour for the letter and joke page to enhance visibility.
I want to recommend this book to kids between the ages of 2 and 10, along with anyone who loves reading children’s books and novels. They would enjoy and appreciate the work of art.
Considering all the pros and cons mentioned above, I would like to rate this book a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
