[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "A Spiritual Dog: "Bear"" by J. Wesley Porter.]
It is said that the dog is a man’s best friend and this book is all about that. One day this family decided that they wanted a dog, so they went to the animal shelter where Daniel and Joshua saw a group of dogs in a cage. Six-year-old Joshua chose a jet-black mixed Shih Tzu-Poodle out of the group of dogs in the shelter, and this was the beginning of this beautiful journey. This beautiful dog was named Bear, and he was just perfect. He had so much energy and loved to play. Everyone loved him. Bear recognized people by their smell, and he loved being around everyone. He could sense when you were sad or tensed and knew how to give you a warm greeting that would melt your heart. Grab a copy of this book to enjoy this beautiful book.
Reading A Spiritual Dog "Bear" by J. Wesley Porter was a heartwarming experience. The descriptions of Bear and how lovely he was reminded me of my dog. Dogs are lovely, and Bear is the perfect example to prove this. The care and cuddles he gives when he senses you are sad show how pure his heart is. The author shows through this lovely book that dogs and animals, in general, should be shown enough care like we would show a human. He also shows that dogs reciprocate the love they are shown.
Overall, this was a beautiful experience for me. The writing was simple and flowed smoothly. The illustrations were perfect, as they had catchy colors that would glue a child’s attention to them. The lessons about caring for pets and animals are important for children to learn from a young age. Finally, considering the short attention span of children, I think this book is concise and straightforward, so they will not get bored reading it.
There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this book, so I rate it 5 out of 5 stars. The editing and formatting were professionally done, with bold fonts that were catchy. I found only one minor error in it. I highly recommend this book to children between the ages of 5 and 11. They will definitely enjoy it. As an adult and a dog lover, I enjoyed it, and I am certain that other dog lovers will enjoy it too. Everyone deserves a lovely dog like Bear in their lives.
