Spend a day with Bingo by Beam Frankland is a fiction book for children aged 3-5. The story chronicles a day in the life of a lovable Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy called Bingo.

Bingo lives in a beautiful home and has a wonderful family. When he wakes in the morning, he is always excited for the day's adventures. Bingo feels sad when his best friend Bella goes to school and counts the hours until she returns. Whilst Bella is at school, Bingo plays with the family's pet bird, Bear. Bear escapes the birdcage and plays tricks on Bingo. The pair play games, chase each other and have lots of fun. These shenanigans fill the time until Bella comes home, and she and Bingo continue the day's adventures.

The book includes charming full-page illustrations that are visually appealing. The drawings are cute, and children will fall in love with the appearance of Bingo. The large illustrations make the book more engaging for the intended age group. The text is simple and easy to understand, making the book a perfect bedtime story.

I enjoyed reading a story from the perspective of a dog. The book gives children an understanding of how loyal and loving a pet dog can be and what they need to be happy and healthy. The book includes valuable messages about dog ownership, friendship and family.

There are only three characters in the book. The three are all unique and different but love each other regardless. I think the author includes a good lesson about diversity.

The book is edited very well, and I loved the simple text and vibrant illustrations. The characters and story are charming. I especially enjoyed the themes of friendship and family, and I think young readers will learn how to raise a happy dog. I found nothing to dislike about the book, so I give it 5 out of 5 stars.

The relationship between Bella and Bingo was really wonderful and its nice that Bingo had the bird to keep him company before Bella returns from school.
