I read this book very fast and with a lot of enthusiasm. It's aimed at young kids who play football, especially those who dream of having a career in the sport. The main goal is to motivate young players by telling the stories of some of the greatest footballers through a simple and engaging narrative. I loved the positive tone from start to finish and would recommend it to teachers, both in regular schools and soccer schools for children, to use in the classroom and on the field.

The second part of the book includes motivational phrases divided by category, along with suggestions on how to “use” the book. Positive affirmations have proven to be powerful tools for emotional learning and connecting with children of all ages, especially those in competitive environments. I found this section really uplifting and potentially very helpful for many young readers. That’s why my rating is 5 out of 5. Thus, I have nothing to criticize the book. Only a wholesome message being passed on.

I also really appreciated knowing that the author, Lucas Martin, has a Latin American background. That made me feel more connected to the book and to him, because in Latin countries — especially in South America, I’d say — it’s so common to see kids playing football everywhere: on fields in both rich and poor neighborhoods, in the streets, and at school. We have many local football academies that aim to find the next generation of great players, and this whole world is deeply rooted in our culture. Because of that, I think the book can resonate in a special way with Brazilian readers. It’s great for young boys and girls with Talent to look up to big football names and dream big.

One of the highlights for me was the inclusion of the player Alex Morgan, representing women’s football. That carries a lot of meaning. It shows that today, women’s football is just as important and powerful as the men’s game. Her story is told with the same care and emphasis as the male players, showing clearly that her dedication, hard work, and achievements are just as inspiring. For girls who dream of becoming footballers, seeing this kind of representation can make all the difference.

The purpose of the book is very clear: to motivate young players by telling the journeys of famous athletes and offering daily encouragement through affirmations. The sections of Book 1 include the player’s story, move descriptions (so the reader can “play like them”), and a quiz. Even kids who aren’t yet into reading might be drawn in just to answer the questions. The way the content is visually organized with boxes and question sections really helps hold the attention of younger readers. Each story is told in a simple and friendly tone, which works well for kids, parents, and teachers.

If you're looking for a way to inspire young football enthusiasts, this compilation does a great job of weaving together the journeys of iconic footballers in an accessible, upbeat way. It's not just about teaching the game—it's about motivating kids to dream big and push through challenges, making it an ideal read for any aspiring player. The positive tone throughout keeps it light yet impactful, and I can see it being a perfect addition to a teacher's toolbox, whether in a classroom or on the field. The simplicity of the narrative makes it an easy win for engaging young minds while encouraging perseverance.
