I love historical fiction and suspense. I am rooting for Charlie. Reading about the stakes involved in the Vietnam War and Bobby Kennedy's presidential campaign will be enlightening for me. I am adding this book to my bookshelves. Thank you for this great review!

The combination of historical events and fictional characters sounds really intriguing. I’m interested in how the author blends the political tension of the 1968 campaign with Charlie’s personal journey. I’ll be checking this out, especially now that I’m curious to learn more about Bobby Kennedy after reading the review.

“Goodbye Bobby” by JJ Harrigan masterfully intertwines historical events with fiction, offering a gripping narrative set during Robert F. Kennedy’s 1968 presidential campaign. The protagonist, Charlie Parnell, embarks on a perilous mission to end the Vietnam War, highlighting themes of political intrigue and personal sacrifice. Harrigan’s portrayal of real figures alongside fictional characters provides a fresh perspective on a pivotal era in American history.

This sounds like a fascinating blend of historical fiction and political thriller. I love the idea of mixing real events with fictional what-if scenarios, and the 1968 setting adds a lot of intrigue. Thanks for sharing this insightful review!

Goodbye Bobby sounds like an engaging historical fiction novel that blends real events with fictional elements, focusing on political intrigue and personal stakes. The incorporation of Bobby Kennedy's 1968 presidential campaign adds depth, and the protagonist's journey seems emotionally compelling, especially given the high stakes and risks involved. It's great that the author successfully creates a vivid atmosphere, making readers feel immersed in the time period. While starting with the first book might enhance the experience, it seems this one stands strong on its own, offering an exciting read for fans of historical thrillers.
