This was a well written review, it actually made me very interested in reading it. The plot of a guy trying to avoid prison by joining the military and then getting imprisoned while in the military is definitely intriguing enough on its own for me to pick up this book and give it a read
"The Forgotten Soldier" by Dr. Angelique Barabara recounts the true story of Curtis Dagley, a man who enters the military to avoid jail, only to face further hardship and imprisonment after a critical mission.
Life in the military can't be easy, and to think that Curtis still ended up in the jail he was evading, is sad. Thank God he had a good prison mate to keep him going. I would sure love to know how his life eventually turned out.
Hi @Mercy Bolo, I just read your comments on the official review of "The Forgotten Soldier" and I was disappointed you did not mention more of the story which would prove you read the sample and official review. For example, "The Forgotten Soldier" by Dr. Angelique Barabara is a true-life story of a man named Curtis Dagley. He served in the Army to avoid jail time for accidentally killing a woman. Curtis wanted to be a respectable man and Curtis’ parents wanted him to settle down with a girl named Susie but he wanted to settle down with a girl named Gracie. He felt Susie was out of his league and wanted Gracie because he could relate to her. Curtis had two close friends and one night while driving home with them he got into an accident and a woman was killed. The accident was not entirely his fault but the odds were against him and he could end up in jail. His father had connections and was able to get Curtis enlisted in the Army to avoid jail time. While boot camp was difficult, Curtis showed exemplary strength and discipline. Seeing how successful Curtis was motivated his superiors to assign him to a critical mission. On this mission he meets a terrible fate where he is imprisoned for a crime, they say he committed. His imprisonment lasted several months and every day he worried that he would never escape or be released. One needs to read the book to learn what happens to Curtis and if he is rewarded for his work on the critical mission. The author wrote a wonderful story that made readers feel like they are in the room where things are happening. If one loves military stories this book is for you. I look forward to reading the entire book to learn how Curtis gets out of prison and what happens to him. The book deserves the 5 out of 5-star rating. @Mrlefty0706
