The novel masterfully intertwines historical fact with fiction, making the world of ancient Britannia and Rome feel immersive and authentic, especially with the inclusion of real Celtic figures like Cunobelin.

This is an interesting story of Marrock's absolute desperation for power and the throne, I hope the love and romance between Catrin and Marcellus prevails over Marcellus love for Rome, so Bratannia may find freedom from the Reign of Marrock

There was a time when I loved books like this that were either fantasy or historical fiction based on the mythologies of ancient Earth's civilizations. Their epic adventures, woven together with complex plots and a long cast of well–rounded characters, both good and evil, reminded me of Hollywood's so-called Sword-and-Sandal movies. I've gotten over them, for the most part. The excerpt just proved it to me. Sometimes the magic is too violent and grotesque for me.
The power to say, ‘This is who I am & I expect that your respect for me will define your support of me,’ is something people with disabilities have longed to say.”

I already like the premise of this book. There's drama and intrigue, with some magic. Souls trapped in their own skulls? Sign me up; I'm reading this.

Romance is not my preferred reading material, and I am also not immediately drawn to fantasy and magic. I appreciate the mix of fantasy and real-life events, historical characters being included in the story. If I would read this book, the description of historical Roman and Celtic politics would capture my interest.

“Skull’s Vengeance: Curse of Clansmen and Kings” by Linnea Tanner is the fourth book in the series. This is fictional story that blends historical events between Britannia and Rome. The story takes place in Southeast Britannia where the Cantiaci Kingdom was ruled by King Marrock, a horrible man that had slaughtered his father and the entire household to claim the throne for himself. The only one standing in King Marrock’s march to greatness is his half-sister, Caitlin who possesses powers like taking on the eyes of a raven to follow her enemies and she is trained warrior that survived numerous battles as a gladiator in the Coliseum. She knows that she is destined to become the ruler of Britannia. To do this she must defeat Marrock and she will need help from the druids and the Roman Army under the command of her husband Marcellus, her secret husband that is torn between his Roman oaths and his love for Caitlin. This book includes dark magic, curses, evil druidesses, murder and Catrin who can access the power of the ancient druids and her vengeance will play out when she fights Marrock and she avenges the death of her father and other family members. She will be an excellent ruler of the kingdom with her husband Marcellus. Some of the Celtic characters are non-fictional, but other characters were created to enhance the story. While magic and curses are not my usual genre, I do enjoy thrilling action and fights between good and evil. The official review and sample have motivated me to buy the book and read it.

"Skull's Vengeance" by Linnea Tanner seems intriguing. Power intoxicates. That is the plight of Marrock. Congrats on BOTD. Great job on the review.

Catrin reunites with her Roman husband, Marcellus. Their marriage is forbidden in the eyes of the Romans, but Catrin is on a mission. She has the power to wield a dagger that will overthrow king Marrock. The book is fast-paced with many twists that will keep readers glued.

Congrats on BOTD! I'd love to read this series. Catrin's evil half-brother, Marrock, is a powerful sorcerer, but Catrin has the prophecy on her side, Marcellus's help, and access to power and powerful alliances. She got this.
