Jake is a patriot through and through. He is the handsome Texas-born protagonist of TD Worley's novel Jake's List. Jake has loved the United States and what she stands for since he was a young man. He hates to see what corrupt politicians are doing to his beloved country, however. He has determined that something needs to be done to change the status quo, but as a young adult he is afraid to be outspoken about it. He doesn't know anyone else who thinks the way he does. That is until he meets Nathan Bearden.

Nathan has been working for years on a solution, and seeing that Jake is of the same mind as he is, brings him into the fold of the Movement. It is a clandestine organization self-appointed to address America's corruption issue. Over a period of 30 years, Jake, Nathan and the rest of the members of the nationwide Movement prepare for the day of reckoning. Politicians are not the only target. The movement also has its sights set on athletes, musicians, CEOs and other public figures who have twisted American ideals for their own lucre. They have all earned a place on the list.

Jake's list is the first in the Second American Revolution series, a saga told in six volumes. Mr. Worley writes a timely, believable tale, especially in light of our latest election season and the discontent felt in our country today. He gives a great deal of attention to character development and dialogue, the two main tools he uses to engage the reader in this novel. He paints vivid pictures of Jake's romance with Nathan's daughter Pam, and Jake's friendship with the cantankerous old men at the diner. It will be interesting to see how things play out in the rest of the series for Jake and his friends.

People who like quiet, suspenseful stories will enjoy this book. Mr. Worley slowly builds the plot to its climax and includes a couple of interesting plot twists. Readers will need to look elsewhere for an action-packed thriller, as Jake's List does not fit that bill.

I rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. The story flows smoothly, although there are several grammatical errors. Further editing would earn this book a higher score. If you like this book, look forward to the next five installments in the Second American Revolution series.

I think this series sounds interesting. I haven't really read anything like it before. Unfortunately, I am a little put off by grammatical errors as I feel it really takes away from the flow of the narrative. Thanks for the great review!

The story line is unique and interesting. After reading your review, I am definitely interested in the book but the editing issues are a deal breaker for me. Great review!
