Robert McCammon - Underrated for Matthew Corbet HF

Post by jlindquist »

Randomly picking up the very large second book in the Matthew Corbet series, The Queen of Bedlam, I found that Robert McCammon has a huge gift in writing detail for action and description. Considering the popularity of these novels, the eighth in the series was recently published, I was wondering why I don't see him being proclaimed as a top writer in mainstream historical fiction circles. Is anyone else familiar with his HF writing?
