I once briefly read about the conflict between natives and immigrants in 1862. There are many controversies regarding this issue and I think a book discussing this issue would be very interesting. Reading your review made me even more eager to read this book. Thank you for writing it. What a great review.
Your Sincerely

Thank you for the informational review and I'm glad you liked the book. From the sample, I also liked how the author wrote it so it is easy to read and how it described all of the historical actions. I am sure those that enjoy the genre will be glad to read it. I don't care for historical fiction much, so I will pass on it.

Both the Swedish family and the Dakota Sioux man are likely struggling to survive. The book might explore the strength and resourcefulness required in such situations.

The book realistically portray the violence and suffering caused by war. This unflinching portrayal spark reflection on the consequences of armed conflict. Definately one of the best book. Congrats on #Botd

Julia, certainly, is a likable character. I have not yet read the book but the fact that she appears to be a constant source of support in such turbulent times makes her definitely one of the best characters. I have read a bit about the American Civil War but nothing much about the Dakota Sioux War. I am adding the book to my shelf.
Many thanks for the review. :tiphat: :tiphat: :tiphat:

The brutality of the Dakota Uprising and the Civil War would naturally lead to a story with emotional depth. The book might explore themes of loss, resilience, and the human cost of war in a moving way.
