David Richards' "Love Letters to the Virgin Mary: The Resurrection of King David" tells the stories of a toddler talking with a fictitious Jesus and a Spanish soldier exchanging love letters to his deceased wife. The book examines human struggles, faith, and salvation. The book explores the relationship between faiths and how belief is shaped by the imagination. King David, the main character, battles social problems and is revived in the modern era. The novel appeals to readers with its exquisite language and themes of ancient combat. Giving one's life to someone else—even Jesus—is a challenging endeavour, particularly for a soldier serving in a position of power. The review of the book highlights the value of creativity and the characteristics of a visionary leader.

Thank you for the review of "Love Letters to the Virgin Mary" by David Richards. I understand that you may have been confused by this book as I became confused as I read and reread your review. I think it sounds interesting enough so I will read this book. Including a love letter written to the Virgin Mary from King David, warrior methodology, quantum physics and how some humans find their way to Christ after family tragedy sounds intriguing at the least! Thanks again for your review!

“Love Letters to the Virgin Mary” by David Richards is divided into five books and it is described as a love letter between King David and the Virgin Mary. The book includes Roman soldiers and the art of war they learned from the Greeks. There are two narrators, one a Roman soldier who writes letters to his dead wife and the other is a child that talks to Jesus in his head. Readers will learn that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all parts of this great love story. I found the sample hard to read since it jumped around between the love of Jesus, Roman leaders and the author’s love live. Since King David lived hundreds of years before the Virgin Mary, I was puzzled as to how he knew who she was and how he loved her. We know that Jesus was a descendant of King David. Being a devout Catholic I was enticed by the title but found myself lost reading the story. If one loves the military or love reading about wars, then this book is for you.

Thank you for your informational review. I'm glad you liked the book for the most part. I don't really like reading about war and warriors, though it is a unique way of describing the Virgin Mary. I believe I will pass on this one and let others read it who don't mind reading about soldiers and warriors.

The review itself gives off that inference. I guess having two narrators in a single book could have caused that since the review mentioned that switching from the soldier's perspective to King David's perspective was confusing. It was okay that the book had the theme of Christianity and Faith, but I'd have to read of one salient lesson one could draw from the book regarding Christianity and faith.

Excellent review. So detailed, informative, and expressive. I know what to expect from the book only by the help of this review. Also the book is readable. According to the review I may love the love part but I don't think I'm gonna get on the soldiers and war part. But totally agree with review. It is so great to know about a book in such details.

Your review is very interesting, Moo! Sampling, I gleaned that this book was about the relationship of humans with their faith. Your review explains how the book progresses and the military aspects the book covers. This feels like a unique book that will interest Christian fiction and romance fans.
