This book sounds like a huge adventure. It sounds like a good historical fiction novel that ties in cool historical facts as well as having a good plot with a cool spy thriller espionage angle. Very detailed and thorough well written review!

At first glance, the story didn't seem so appealing to me because of the cover. However, your review makes it sound quite captivating with the great background in Egypt. Also, the author seems quite a romantic including the music sheet in the story. I'll save this book for a long weekend vacation.

I'm afraid this is not my style of book to read. I got too bogged down with the military jargon. I do appreciate your review however, thank you for the information.

The war theme made me think I should pass, but I like the reviewer's passion.

Great review! I am not a big fan of history, but I can enjoy a good story. This sounds like an good story. It is good that author developed characters and has but in details of the history showing their knowledge. There is nothing better to me when u can really see the story. The hint of romance is a good think too. But I like that author added some humor , because someone like me, who doesnt read a lot of history, can still appreciate this story being told. Not sure yet if I will read it. But if I find the time, I just might. :)

Espionage, adventure, humor, and history. Count me in. This sounds like a well written and intriguing story.

Allied and German reps facing off in an African city during WWII, in a story with romantic elements. Reminds me of Casablanca, one of my favorite movies. Thanks for the review.

I know this probably a silly question but, is this a western or is it in modern day? It doesn't seem like my type of read. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for your review. I will admit that the title was a bit confusing at first but after reading your review, everything makes a little more sense now. A history book with a bit of other genre's thrown in? I'm sold! I am looking forward to adding this book to my to be read pile, I swear it is ever growing! :tiphat:

I am encouraged to read this book "The Warramunga's War" after reading your review. This book tells a story of war-time then and now, even-though it is a fictional history novel. What little I have read the story relates to what is happening now with the Syrian war, where America is deeply involved, but not Egypt. Many readers will enjoy the classical turns it carries which involves Germany, Italy and Great Britain who fought a real non-fictional historical war before, that involved other nations and not Syria and Cairo. Interesting review.

Even though the book is about war, your review pointed out other things that would make this book more appealing. You mentioned that the book is full of action and suspense with a little romance. I like how the author includes information on the pyramids and Sphinx while in Egypt.

I can see that you really enjoyed this book by your review. It's good to see a book that focusses on the events on North Africa during the war. Great job.

So I love both historical fictions and mystery novels. That paired with the great praise for this book has me interested (even though this would not be my usual pick for a location for a historical novel).

Historical fiction books are a gamble for me. I enjoy so me and I hate some. I do not like the emotions I get with war stories but I 'll put this in my to read list maybe I will change my mind and read it.

I wish that the book had more information on the war and why it was named that. Also think that it was a little slow reading sometimes. All in all I did enjoy it.
