I really enjoy reading books about the history of England and the lives of so many characters. Susanna Mandeville is a spinster daughter of a merchant that is only concerned with her paintings. Her father wants her to marry a respectable man but she is rather crude to the men that are introduced to her and uses her sharp tongue and her fists to drive them away. Her father has banished her four times to Bourne. She meets two significant men in Bourne, one that she had previous history with and another that catches her attention. Susanna's dream is to dance at a royal dance. Will she get her wish and will she find a husband that her father approves? Read the book to find out. Very good review.

Susanna must find her man amidst ongoing rebellion in England. She's indulged on painting. With an encouraging review, I wish to finish reading the book.

Great vices and rebellion seems to be portrayed in this book. However, the aspect of love and romance complemented the theme to satisfy most readers. Thank you for this review.

its a lovely genre, rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, promoting or fighting the rebels, i think is a good idea.

Mirrored Sword Part One by Allan Hands is a historical fiction that tells the story of rebellion in England and the roles of different characters in promoting the rebel

Reading this book felt like reading about the lives of some of the characters. The most interesting character for me was Tom Roussell. He was portrayed in a manner that leaves the reader in doubt about his true personality. John Farthings' story was the most pitiful of all. It was really heart-rending to see a father go through so many difficulties because of his untamed daughter. With Susanna's story, the reader is left with a desire to give her proper schooling or even some thrashing. Susanna's lack of love for men is absurd at first, given her beauty and charm. But the author allowed the reader to discover what influenced her decision eventually.

Matilda is another character I enjoyed reading about. She was used to representing the theme of love. Unfortunately, in her previous marriages, it seemed understandable when she chose to fight for her love for the blacksmith. It was quite painful to read how that love story turned out. The last chapter is the most intriguing for me, leaving the reader in awe of how the hidden agendas and truths were revealed.

I did not find anything negative about this book. The author had an interesting way of blending all the themes in this book, so much that each was represented even at the end of the book.

I found only a few errors in this book. Consequently, the book was professionally edited, and I commend the author for a thorough job. Due to this, my rating for this book is 4 out of 4 stars.

I am very intrigued by Susanna's character. I wonder what led her to be that way, like having no interests in men. It would be interesting to know, perhaps she has been heart broken befor? Great review, thank you.

Even with a rebellious hellion as the main character and two possible romances, I'm still not tempted by historical fiction, especially one that seems fraught with politics. I'll give this one a pass. Thanks for the review!

A historical fiction mixed with romance sounds exciting. I am curious to find out if Susanna will find love even in the middle of a rebellion. Congrats on BOTD.
