Tanner clearly has a way with historical fiction. I've read reviews of the other books in the series and this one seems like no exception. Thanks for the review.

How horrible can it be that memory loss could cause a married couple's separation, especially if it had entailed strenuous effort for them to get together in the first place? I feel for Catrin, captured and tormented in this state. However, since I've not read the first two book, I think I'll hold off reading this one so i can follow the story sequentially. Thanks for the story analysis.

I read the first one, and I’m in the middle of the second one, so for sure this is getting put right on my want to read shelf. I have been kind of holding myself back on the second one waiting for the third! This one sounds just as well done as the other two. Catrin is a great character who feels so realistic to me. Thanks for more insight on this one. It looks wonderful!

I like that this book focuses more on Catrin and shows her as a strong character. Great review!

I like historical fiction but not so much the magic. This seems to be an excellent book series though. Thank you for your review and recommendation.

Thanks for a thorough review. After reading it, I felt like I've already read the actual book. I appreciate you citing the characters. It was helpful.

Amulet's Rapture by Linnea Tanner is the third book in the series and every bit as exciting as the other two.

Thank you for sharing your review with us. I was impressed with Catrin’s mental strength. Even while she was captured, she still displayed a caring nature toward innocent creatures.

This sounds like the kind of book I would like. This time in history has always fascinated me. I would probably want to read the first two books before this one though. It seems very detailed and well-researched.

Amulet’s Rapture is the third book in Linnea Tanner's historical romance series. Although it can be read and understood as a standalone book, it would be better to read the books in order. This book continues to follow star-crossed lovers Marcellus and Catrin. I have read the first book, Apollo's Raven, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Congratulations to Ms. Tanner for being chosen as BOTD. Thanks to the reviewer for your excellent review.

I cannot wait to read this one! I purchased a copy a few weeks ago. I've read the first book in the series and absolutely loved it. I'm working on Dagger's Destiny currently! I'm happy to have found a new series to follow! I had to skip over your discussion of plot points in your review because I don't want to encounter any spoilers for the book I'm currently reading.
There is no frigate like a book
To take us lands away,
Nor any coursers like a page
Of prancing poetry.
This traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of toll;
How frugal is the chariot
That bears a human soul!

I liked the fact that you gave the basic idea of the plot without any spoilers, and that you made it clear what you liked and what you didn't. An obvious choice I should think. I agree that the style is direct and easy to read and that the book can be read on its own but it is better to read the first two first (I sampled one I believe).
About it not being suitable for children, I shouldn't worry, as they are generally not attracted to reading novels. I could only read The Three Musketeers when I was 11, and I was an eager and precocious reader at that time too.
Thank you for the nice review!

Thanks for the review, but I greatly dislike historical romance fiction, and I don't care to read about Marcellus and Catrin and their romance any more than I did with the first two books. Sorry, but this one's a strong 'no' for me.
