"Blood Summer 1862" captures the intense emotions, camaraderie, and struggles of war. Dennis O'Keefe masterfully weaves together the lives of soldiers and civilians caught in the conflict's brutal reality. This one is must read for historical fiction fan.

Thank you for an informative and well-balanced review.
This narrative draws the reader into the historical backdrop of 1858 rather magnificently, as this was the "onset of The Civil War."Robert Hauser captures the " complexities of American history" flawlessly in this blend of fiction, which exposes the injustices suffered by the settlers at the time. The severe impact of the war is expanded on, revealing the reality of its effects.
Congratulations to the author!

This book deftly weaves together historical events and fictitious characters to provide an engrossing trip through American history. The Civil War, Chief Little Crow's visit to Washington, and other historical events serve as the setting for the story. Congrats on BOTD.

The book cover is the first gripping aspect of Robert Hauser's Blood Summer 1862. I initially thought it would be a comic or a children's book; however, after reading the sampled pages, I realized it is about the Dakota-Sioux War. It takes excellent writing to pull off historical war-based fiction.

Looking at the cover, it seems that this book will be a comedy, but now after reading the reviews, it seems that this is a historical fiction, set during the Civil War and now I'm really excited about this book .This is already in my list

I love historical fiction. I am always interested in the history of Native Americans. I hope their history is represented better than in the past. The impact of war on individuals in immense and traumatic. Hopefully, reading books like these will encourage us to look for peaceful solutions to any conflict without killing each other.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting historical fiction set at the beginning of the Civil War and following the Dakota Sioux as they attempt to get President Lincoln to acknowledge their struggles. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

I don't know much about American history. So, this book might be good for me. I hope the book gives references to all the sources, though, so that I can cross-check things. Congratulations on the BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

"Blood Summer 1862" by Robert Hauser begins back in 1807 when President Thomas Jefferson discussed with businessman John Astor about trade west of the Mississippi. Tecumseh, the chief of the Shawnee, appears in the story. Soon the plot is transferred to the Civil war era.
