"The Broken Harmonica" by Samuel K. Leonard is a moving story of the life of Cornelius in particular and of all slaves in general. It's always a touching story reading about the injustice that was perpetuated during the slave era. This book will never tire anyone who's interested in knowing more about what the slave era was like. Thanks for the review.

Thank you for sharing your honest review. This story is really sad. The man went through a lot during his life. The topics are too heavy for me. That brutal scene gives me anxiety. And I'm not a fan of lengthy books. I will skip

Thank you for your review. I sampled the book. Initially meeting an old man, Cornelius, alone in his apartment and his relating of his memories, as a child of a slave, were excellently written with detail and emotion. This is a book I would like to read. Thank you for the author's #BOTD.

Emotionally moving books are my thing. They probably the author's power to sink you deep in the narration. So this book is my perfect fit. Congrats to the author.

"the Broken Harmonica" by Samuel K Leonard tells the story of an old slavery survivor who had endured a lot of suffering from a young age. It's emotional but the book is filled with a lot of grammatical errors, the writing structure is not consistent. From a reader's point of view it can be tiring to finish.

This review gives a very good idea of what the book is like. It sounds like there are some terrible scenes in the book but it is well written and it can teach the reader a lot about slavery.

The title alone makes the book sound incredibly intriguing, but your review makes this book sound even more interesting! The tragedies of slavery left a massive impact on future generations and it is important to keep uplifting the voices of former slaves so that the human race can heal towards an eventual goal of equality for everyone

It's sad that Cornelius had to live with many bad memories, especially the abuse his father and sister suffered.

Knowing that there are Africans who share the same story as Cornelius Wright in "The Broken Harmonica" by Samuel K. Leonard pains my heart. The fact that there could be some still going through these injustices makes my heart bleed. Congratulations on BOTD.

This is the historical journey of one of the last living slave survivors of the South. Cornelius Wright a 98 year old black man living through the great depression tells his story of pain and discrimination to a curious Anthropologist. Describing his life events and the resilience it took to overcome the evil of human bondage becoming a free man. It's an interesting story life and liberty seen through the eyes of a survivor.
