Even though it's lengthy, the review has compelled me to start this book!

Thank you for the great review. At first I could not understand why the four places, time and events that took place in each mattered to the rest of the story. Thanks for your review, I now know one of them is given special attention by the main character Isa. I would like to finish reading this novel but it will not be at one setting. Probably for quiet a while to finish.

Ditto. XD It's a fascinating read so far but the jumping between storylines makes it a heavy read for a single sitting - which is fine, because I can do other stuff in between and read at my leisure and watch it all come together, which is my favourite way to read things. And all the themes in here: family, dreams, travel, growing up and searching for identity... This isn't going to be finished in a single day, but oh well.

And I love the review as well! It gives enough information to prepare a reader going into the book, but nowhere near enough to take off the edge of when you dive into a good book. Detailed and yet compact, and even if it hadn't been a book of the day, if I'd come across this review, I would've wound up looking for the book anyway. :)

Thanks for the great review! This sounds fascinating and I'm glad that you enjoyed it. I'm adding it to my must read list. Historical, relational, multiple story lines & time frames and mystery & suspense....wow, that sounds like my type of book. I love a book that engages you. Definitely a must read.
Congrats to the author for taking us on a suspenseful journey!

If you two, meaning, Gali & Hsimone liked it, I will too. It seems my tastes coincide with yours a lot. Thanks for the great review! I look forward to the read.

Very interesting. Thanks for the review! It's not often that a totally new storyline is written and done well. Can't wait to read this one!

Great review hismone! I am really looking forward to reading this book, magic/fantasy is my go to genre and it sounds like the 4 subplots you mention add much to the story. Though I must admit I'm relieved to hear each chapter is time and place stamped! Too many books don't organise their subplots well.

Thanks for the review. It is good to know that even though this is a long book, it doesn't seem to drag. I like when the author labels chapters so that the reader can keep track of the different pathways the plots are taking when there is more than one.

Thank you for the thorough review on this book. Now that I've read your comments, I really want to read it! I'm not deterred by the length of this book, but I just started reading the first Chronicles of Narnia book (I cannot believe I haven't read these yet!), and have two others partially read, but this one sounds so good! So many books, truly, so little time.

What high praise! I'll admit, I wasn't drawn to this book when it came up as Book of the Day, but your review really improves my outlook for reading the beginning. I'm also not a big fan of torture scenes, but a tarot deck from 1389 could be fascinating.
