Deadly Waters is a historical fiction based on true events of Vietnam naval war and its aftermath. A fast-paced and engaging war story with a hint of humor. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of this genre. So I'll pass this one. Thanks for the review.

I love stories like this which are based on true events, but ultimately fictionalized into an exciting story. The plight of Zachariah here mimics that of thousands of young soldiers that were sent off to Vietnam and whether or not you are an expert on the subject, or reading about it for the first time, I'm sure this book will deliver. As a plus, I love when an author is able to reproduce heart-wrenching experiences of war while still inserting aspects of humor into the storyline.

I love historical books, Naval stories, and stories of war. This sounds engaging and intriguing. The inclusion of humor in a war story is creative.

I only know the basics when it comes to Vietnam War. This would be a good way to learn more about the soldiers' plights during that time. I added it t my to-read shelf.

"Deadly Waters: The Vietnam Naval War and Its Aftermath by Randy Miller is a book on love, friendship, devotion to duty, the history of a nation and the aftermath of war."This single sentence is indeed a mouthful. From the sample provided the giftedness of the author emerges as evident by the unfolding narrative and the engaging dialectal variation employed.

This book was quite interesting because it gives the reader a view of what the soldiers live through war. I think this book would make those who are serving their country feel honored because they can relate to this story. It was deep to visualize each event that this young man had to go through since he had to enter and serve his country so young. I rate this book a 4 or of 4.

I can't wait to tear into this one, it sounds truly moving and impactful and I always appreciate that in the books I read. War and it's aftermath are heavy subject matter but these are the types of stories I gravitate towards. Thanks so much for the insightful review, well done!

Here's a book that's perfect for people who want to get some insight about what the Vietnam war put soldiers through. Personally I like my books in the fantasy genre, so I'll pass on this one.

Definitely a good review that thoroughly described the book and makes me want to read it more. I'm not a fan of historical fiction, but I'm interested in the Vietnam War part of the book. And I'm glad to know even though it's fiction, the author wrote it as if it were non-fiction and realistic and thorough. Having a cousin currently in the Navy and his grandfather/my uncle was a member of the UDT (underwater demolition team, which was the Navy seals back then). So that makes me more interested. My grandfather was luckily not in the Vietnam War, but in the Korean War and there was no good stories and a bad experience and saw things he didn't want to see. So I can only imagine what Vietnam was like. So thank you for the wonderful review. I won a copy of the book in the giveaway and can't wait to read it!

I sampled the book on Amazon. The story begins with the instances related to The Vietnam Naval War and the involvement of the US Navy veterans in the war. The writing style of the author is descriptive and effective. The review mentions the part of the book related to the unexpected aftermath of the war. It seems that this book would definitely attract people interested in historical fiction.

Your review was fantastic and I love that this book draws on true events. I typically enjoy historical books, especially a good one about Vietnam, but this one did not pull me into the story line like some can. Great review but not my book.

I'm not really a fan of historical fiction but I like one when the characters are relatable. The book is filled with humor; something you don't see often in a tale about war. The author has beautifully included that and that has piqued my interest in this book. Thanks for the succinct review.
