A historical fiction book with an engaging story that features themes like love and resilience sounds thrilling. Michael seems to have a lot going on in his life. His strong bond of friendship with Gunther and his love life with Leo's daughter seems to have occupied a reasonable measure of his daily schedule. I am more interested to know what was life like during the 20th century when the world experienced the "Great Depression." I will definitely read the book.

Other than Of Mice and Men, I've never read a narrative that has a setting about the Great Depression. The tone also seems hopeful. This will be a unique read indeed!

Sounds like a very interesting story. I like that this book weaves the story of different characters. But why does Gunther have to fall in love with a mafia boss' daughter of every woman in the world? I would certainly love to find out why. Congratulations on the book of the day.

Thank you for your review. I read the sample. In the Depression, professional persons had to find jobs or starve. Gunther and Michael try day jobs, and when that does not work out, they try being hobos. This is an interesting story. Congrats for the author for the #BOTD.

Since this book seems very authentic with regards to the facts and struggles during the Great Depression I'm eager to read it. I truly enjoy the fact that mankind in general can preserve in hardships like this, and still find love and happiness even through all the struggle. Thanks for the review. Congrats on BOTD.

Thank you for your informational review. I'm glad you liked it so well and it was edited so great. Historical fiction is one genre that I am picky about which books I read. My mom has talked about many of the happenings during this time. I know it was very hard on many of the families, but I knew very little about the "hobos". I will pass this one up and hope many others will enjoy it, though.

It is amazing how much love and friendship can help you through tough times. Considering the book is a historical fiction novel that is centered on great depression, there are lessons we can take away as readers concerning resilience.

I have read about how people struggled with job loss and other challenges that came with The Great Depression. However, I think the author has just introduced a different dimension of emotion and love to the richness of history of the Great Depression. Great review and congrats to the author on #BOTD!

I like the way the author has developed the characters in this eye catching story.A good one for all readers. It also encourages those who lose hope easily as we look at Michael and Gunther overcoming many obstacles in search of employment after graduation.Congrats for the good work done.
