I'm so glad to see that not only is the book interesting and emotional, but it's realistic too! This book sounds like it has a wonderful combination of qualities.

My uncle served in Vietnam and just like the men in this book, he enlisted to serve instead of being drafted. I think that the Vietnam War and its after effects are many of the issues that face our society today in regards to homeless and drug addiction. It is horrible to think that the government did not recognize the suffering of these men until much later and it has never been fully addressed to this day.

I'm not usually a fan of war stories and the horror and aftermath of such, but this definitely sounds like a well written and thought provoking story. Great and thorough review!

The sample I read told me that there was some good writing in this book and your review solidified it! I once took a Psychology of War class and now I wish this book had been around then!

A superb review and helped by a superb OBC book of the day. This story almost seems implausible unfortunately we are told it's based on true events. Another emotional wringer of a book without hazarding too much of a guess. Congrats to the author on #BOTD

War stories are totally not my genre, so I can't say I will read this book, but considering review there will be no trouble to attract interested auditory.

I don't usually read books set in this era, but the story sounds intriguing enough for me to give it a shot. My uncle came back from Vietnam with Agent Orange, so it will be interesting to see what the author says about these things.

As an avid history and fiction lover and U.S. Navy sailor this book sounds just up my alley. Looking forward to this take on human emotions, war and it's aftermath. Thanks for the intriguing review.

More attention should be given to war veterans, they should be treated better.
