At first glance I didn't think that this book would interest me. I enjoy historical fiction, but as I read your review my interest was piqued. I'm curious to read the true story behind these fictional characters the author has created. War is an ugly thing and for the soldiers who fought and survived, to come home and receive little to no help is heart breaking. I'm looking forward to checking out this book. Thanks for the interesting review.

This is a good review, however they don’t mention anything about editing. Therefore I can’t say if the rating is appropriate or not. As far as the content of this book and the reviewers opinion of the information, the author clearly didn’t convey the true horror if the reviewer liked it.

It sounds great. I have never liked war novels so this is one I wouldn't read.

Personally, I’m not a fan of historical fictions so I won’t be reading this. Nonetheless, I think this would be a facinating read for those into this genre.

This is a historical fiction book about the lives of navy soldiers during the war in Vietnam and the aftermath of war. I am obsessed with the world war history especially the 2 world war. This book is a good one to add to my collection.

Thank you for the review and I am glad to hear you enjoyed the book. Ironically, I typically avoid war stories for the very reason why you liked this one, as I often find them too emotional which makes it hard! It is good to know the author has a way with words and is able to portray characters realistically as well as the heart-wrenching events in all their detail. I can see this being very popular with fans of historical war fiction.

Nice review. Although I'm not really a fan of historical novels but judging from this review, I guess it's an interesting read for those who love historical novels.

It’s sad that this book is so realistic. Our troops did return from service in Vietnam to scorn and neglect and many still suffer to this day. Thanks for the informative review.

This does not sound like a book that I would read. However, it sounds great for fans of historical books. Thanks for the review. Congrats to the author on the 4/4 review.

It's terrible how the military vets from Vietnam have had to fight to be taken care of after all they went through. I'm interested to learn more, so I'm sure I'll be reading this book. Nice review!

You did a good job in your review explaining this book is fictional story based on historical events about Zachariah enlisting in the Vietnam war out of high school. He deals with the horrors of war. If that wasnt bad enough, he does not receive assistance from the country he fought for when he returned from the war, affected by agent orange.

This is so up my alley. I’m a military brat and a military spouse. I love historical fiction. I’ve seen many return home from the front to receive no recognition and nothing but hardship. I will definitely read this book.

The Vietnam war affected so many lives from both sides. Was it really necessary? The book starts with a Vietnamese lookout. I hope we get to see more from their end. Zach Martin, Vermont farm boy, is then shown transforming from tiller to soldier, from nurturing life to snuffing it out. Such a loss of innocence! And he would end up with a disease and no reward? Sad but true. Please, no more wars!

Deadly Waters: The Vietnam Naval War And Its Aftermath, by Randy Miller, is a #HistoricalFiction based on true events. It chronicles how the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs perverted Congressional Law to cheat 229,000 Vietnam Blue Water Navy Sailors out of all possible compensation for Agent Orange caused illnesses. It is a story of #Love, #War, #Conspiracy #Friendship, #Duty, and #Honor set in #Vietnam.

Thanks for the succinct review.

Thanks for a well-written review. One would imagine that the USA leads in promoting the welfare of her servicemen. It seems that we are wrong in our assumption. With all the challenges the servicemen faced in Vietnam, it was fair for them to be compensated and offered post-war care therapies.
