After reading the first two novels of Follett's Century Trilogy, I was looking forward to reading this trilogy's last book because it covered the times between 1961 and the presidential election of Obama. I lived through these times and I was curious how Follett interpreted these events and how plausible his characters were compared to the people I've known. As far as this Earth's western history is concerned, I believe his characters were quite believable. For me, this lends credit to the characters of all his books. Edge Of Eternity's focus was on the fall of the Iron Curtain and the Civil Rights Movement. So much more happened during this period, like man's walk on the moon, and the invention of the home computer and its impact on our culture – to name a couple, but these events were not included in his story. Never-the-less, there is just so much you can put in a book without it becoming a foot thick. Like most of his works, this story was gripping and it left me looking forward to returning to my last read page.
