"The Great Pearl Heist" by Molly Caldwell Crosby

Post by Sasha For »

Molly Caldwell Crosby's novel "The Great Pearl Heist" is dedicated to a pearl theft in London in 1913. It discusses the point of view of both the thieves as well as the detectives chasing them.

Usually I find historical novels either great or very boring. Crosby's was slightly boring in the start, however, it increasingly became more and more interesting. Because of the detail that she went into to describe the tactics used by everyone involved in the pearl heist it was easy to put myself in the shoes of both the good side and the bad side. It was easy to feel as though I was part of the story by about a third of the way through. She also included pictures of both the people involved as well as the pearl's themselves.

This is one of the historical books in my collection that I am glad is there.

Thank you for the honest review! I always appreciate knowing both the strengths and weaknesses before I begin reading a book. This one sounds like it's right up my alley!
