It's mind blowing that life continues while war rages around Syrian people. This seems like a poignant poetry collection that deserves to be known so we can all, finally, understand the value of peace.
Thank you for your review.

The depth of your review encapsulates the beauty of the beautiful poetry, depicting how life goes on in the backdrop of the Syrian Civil War.
These thought-provoking tales capture the reality of the situation from a basic victim/ survivor level and show how they adapt to the horrific reality resulting from war. Congratulations to the author! From the sample, I was moved by every word, you are divinely gifted in connecting people's souls through your poetry

It's always enlightening to see situations we are hopefully never going to experience through the eyes of people for whom it became their daily life. Seems like this war poetry concentrates more on the life moving on.

"Voices from a Forgotten Letter" by Seif-Eldeine is a poignant collection of poems reflecting on the Syrian Civil War's impact on everyday life. It vividly portrays the resilience of Syrian people amidst chaos, covering themes like disease, forced marriage, and refugee labor. The poems offer a deeply personal perspective, contrasting with typical news reports, and are marked by intense imagery and emotional depth. One striking poem describes a dying soldier's final thoughts. The book includes a helpful glossary for Arabic terms. Earning a perfect 5 out of 5 stars, it offers insightful, heart-wrenching glimpses into a war-torn society clinging to hope and normalcy.

What a great review!
I found the imagery conjured up by Seif-Eldeine of life going on despite the war very intense.
This alone may be the very reason I’d have to pass on a book like this (for now, at least). I’m already a super sensitive person as is. Therefore, I know all too well that if there’s anything in terms of a tragic narrative that’ll take someone out (emotionally), aside from the tragedy itself, it’s everything happening around and in spite of it. Those reminders that the world keeps turning and life goes, on no matter what horrors or challenges occur, have the unique ability to be both heartbreaking and uplifting. It’s all in how you look at it in the moment. Kudos to the author for BOTD as well as putting their skills to such good use!

The voices of civilians come to light in this beautiful collection of poems by Seif-Eldeine in which he shows us, with a beautiful lyric, the perspectives of the Syrian war from the point of view of those who do not fight in them.
