Sounds like an absolutely amazing poetry collection! I loved that the author also explains what inspired him to write this or that poem and the cover is just magnificent! A must-read book for every poetry lover :) Thank you for a great review!

Good review. I’m just getting into poems and love how this one shows the authors love for his wife. I think I’ll put this on my books to read list.

A lovely, well-written and enthusiastic review. Unfortunately, the sample was mostly made up of the Foreword, with only the first poem as a taster, so I couldn't really get a good sense of the author's poetry. I think it's wonderful that he explains the reasoning behind each of his poems. This takes me back to high school when we'd sit and debate for hours on end what a poet meant! So this is a really unique aspect.

This sounds like a touching book of poems and an emotional roller-coaster. Getting to know the author's life and feelings is a precious experience and I'm looking forward to it.

Painting with Words by Ian Prattis sounds like good poetry. The fact that it has a variety of themes makes it even more interesting. Great review.

I love that today's BOTD includes an introduction to each of the six included categories. Doing so allows readers to develop an understanding of the poet's personal experiences, emotional state, influences, and inspirations he had when writing these poems. It also gives us a timeline, so we are able to see the change and growth that took place. This sounds like a wonderful collection! Thank you so much for your review! :-)

I think poetry speaks from the heart of the poet. It really takes talent to express one's feelings through this art form. This sounds like a great collection for those who enjoy poetry. Thank you for the great review.

Interesting choice of words: Poetry for a new era! Ian Prattis is definitely a maverick who could make a difference in both the real and poetic worlds. I loved the diversity of the topics he tackles and the uniqueness of the lyrical images. Painting with Words seems like a wonderful read. Thanks for your review!

I believe I would like to read this book on the grounds of this review. I like the idea of an introduction to each poem so I am glad you mentioned it. I also really like the idea of a Buddhist perspective so that in my opinion makes the book even more appealing. A great review.

I was only going to read the sample on my Cloud Reader but, after reading your review, I decided to download Painting with Words to my device and read all of it. I've only read the Academia so far, but I would have to agree with your assessment of Ian Prattis' poetry. He literally paints images with words, and your take on this is completely on point. I can't wait to have some quiet time to read the rest of the work. Thank you for an excellent review!

Reading poetry? Thank you, but no thank you, never was able to understand it or interpreted or even appreciate. I don't try to offend author, I am just not sentimental by nature, so I will have to skip this one.

Poetry is about painting pictures and emotions with words, and this author seems to be excellent at doing that. It is really not something that I enjoy much though. Thanks for a wonderful review!

Poetry is not my kind of read I therefore won't read Painting with Words by Ian Prattis but I will recommend it. Nice review.

The title "Painting words" itself is eye-catching. I love poems that move my emotions because they make you fit into the shoes of the persona. What an insightful review. I will add this book to my want to read list. Congratulations to the author
