I don't know anything about poetry, but this is so full of little and short poems that anyone could enjoy it. Also, I really like the bilingual thing, it add so much spicy to the book

Poems are beautiful to read because of how they were composed and the meaning behind each stanza so I’m looking forward to digging into this one to know the author’s thoughts and experiences about many things in her life.

"Contemplacion. Thoughts and Poems." by Ileana Gonzalez Monserrat. An interesting poetry book that has the combination of both English and Spanish. Talks about the author's father who was away from her for many years. The author is also a traveler, talked about places she's been to. This poetry book is easy to understand for readers. Congrats on your #BOTD.

A thoughtful book of poems reflecting the author's life experiences growing up in Cuba and leaving. The poems are written in Spanish or English. I did find that I didn't like the poems where phrases were repeated within the poem.

Ileana Gonzalez Monserrat wrote this autobiographical collection of poetry, including English and Spanish pieces. The poems reflect her life in Cuba and her experiences during the Revolution. She shares how she persevered through hardships and describes her travels to different countries. It is refreshing to witness her faith and optimism. Terrific book review!

I am a wannabe poet myself. I appreciate the free book. Let me see if I can make sense of the Spanish poems too.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting collection of poems and thoughts focusing on the author's experiences starting from her childhood. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

I liked how the author uses both English and Spanish in her poems which made it more interesting. People that know both languages would benefit from reading these poems and for people starting to learn the language. It describes the author's life and how to overcome adversity.
