Dragon (a play-off on Rapunzel)
~***~
“Okay. So you want to hear my side of the story, huh?” The dragon smiled at the detective. “Well, okay then. I was flying over the village, this was about 5 years ago by the way, and I was young then. My father had told me not to kill anything in front of humans, but I was so hungry and I had see this nice looking cow in that field over there. Well beyond my best knowledge, I killed it.” The dragon watched for the change of expression in the detective’s face, but there wasn’t one. “Go on.” The detective encouraged him. “Well while I was cooking the cow with my fire I seen the princess all over the guard’s son outside. She looked a little young to be ogling all over this boy so I though I’d speak with her father. When I talked with the king he became out raged, by the way I understood it she had been doing this for sometime and he was pretty pissed.” The dragon took in a deep breath and began again, “Well the king ask me if I would do him a favor considering I had ate one of his prize cows. I kinda had a feeling that it would get me in to some kinda crap, so I said yes. Taking under the consideration that I did eat his cow.” The detective was writing his story down in his note book so the dragon took a minute to let him catch up. The detective nodded and the dragon continued, “The king asked me personally if I would watch over her if he placed her under house arrest in the tower by the lava lake. Well I didn’t assume it would be so hard. Seeing that she was about 14 said I would only be there for about 4 years. Then the king told me that he wanted no man to get near her, no matter how I had to stop them. Which to me means, kill if you have too.” The detective looked up at him, “So the king did not tell you not to kill anyone?” “No, he just said that they must stay away from her till he said other wise.” The detective took note of this with great care. “Well a few weeks later a long came a young man, of about 20 or so, and he try to get to her. I seen him, I ask him to leave, and do you know what that young idiot did? He pulled a sword on me. So when I burned him, it was completely self defense.” The detective nodded in agreement and the dragon keep going, “Well, week after week it went on like this. Young little imbeciles walking all up to the tower like they owned the place trying to get at the princess and then pulling out their damn swords on me like I was some kinda wild beast or something. And of course I killed them. What did you want me to do let them kill me?” The detective looked at the dragon, “How long were you there before you quit?” “About 5 years. The lady is 19, old enough to wed. and I just couldn’t possibly take another minute of her whining and her oddly strange sexual day dreams about these young men. It was really getting on my nerves and I feared that if I stayed one minute longer that I’d burn her to death. I was extremely annoyed.” The detective wrote in his note book taking great care to catch every word he had to say. “Well while I was going to see the king, a bunch of his people started calling me a murder and a killer like I was just killing people for no reason. It was very rude!” The detective turned his head up, “So apparently the king did not tell his people of what he was doing?” “Apparently not Sr. Well I talked with the king about this and I don’t think he was going to do anything about what the were saying about me. So I left.” “That it? You did not do anything after that but go home?” The dragon nodded. The detective stood up, “Thank you for talking to me. I’ll be sure your side is heard when they take this to trial dear dragon. I’m sorry for the inconvenience and I’ll be talking to you later.” The dragon shook his hand with great care not to harm him in anyway. And the detective left his house.

The detective took great care walking in to the court room were the king set alone for their meeting. The detective took a chair across from the king and opened his note book. “Lets start shall we?” The king just nodded and took a deep breath. “So, when did this all start?” The detective ask the warn out king in front of him. “It all started after her mother died when she was about ten years old. Our relationship wasn’t so great and she was really connected to her mother, like any other girl would be. We began to grow even further and further apart over the next few years.” The king paused, the words were painful and were hard to find, “When she was about 12 I found her sneaking around to meet the kitchen boy. I had him fired for being indecent with her and grounded her to her room. Before this had worked on may things. Well about a week after she was aloud to leave her room on of my servants found her at the pound all over a boy from the village. And it accrued to me that it was her and not these boys. Well, about a week later the dragon came to me. And told me that she was ogling all over our guard’s son. And that he had ate one of my cow and he apologized for that. Well this sent me in to a flying rage. I thought up a plain. It was to lock her away in the tower across the lava lake till she was old enough to be wed. I ask the dragon if he would guard her. He took the vowel and said yes. I told him not to let a man nor boy near her till I told him other wise. I did not take under consideration that he might have to kill to do so. But I was willing to do anything necessary to protect the innocents of my child.” The king waited for a sign to continue while he watched the detective write. When the detective was finished he looked up at him to go on. “Well we locked her in the tower. I did not consider that many men would go after her. Apparently there was a roomer going around the village that she had been kidnapped by the dragon. After a while I heard that every man who went to save her did not come back. I had told the men to stay away from the tower, but of course they thought I was just worried about their well being and they went anyways. After about 5 years, the dragon came to me. He told me that I could watch after my own daughter and he left with great rage. I do not know what happened in that tower or across the lava lake, just that he had to quit.” The detective finished writing what the king had told him. “Is there anything else you would like to add Sr. King?” “No, that’s about all I can tell you.” The king looked honest enough so the detective stood up, shook the kings hand, and left the room.

The princess set alone in the gown room awaiting for the detective when he walked in. “Good after noon princess.” The detective said as he pulled up a chair from across the room, “You know why I am here. Please start telling me your side of the story.” The princess glanced at him. With the over powering look that she wanted to eat him alive. “After my mothers death, I felt great separation from my father. He was always out on business and he did not spend much time with me. I was only ten, I needed parental affection, you know.” The detective look at her. “Well, when I was about 12 I meet the new kitchen boy. I liked him rather much and I was in a state were I liked to try out new things, if you know what I mean.” The princess waited for a reaction and when there was none she continued, “Well father had him sent away and had me grounded. It made me angry. After wards I meet a village boy. We messed around a little till my fathers servant caught us and told my father. Well this time he did nothing but the boy was afraid and would not see me again. About a week later I started seeing the guard’s son. The stupid dragon who slaughtered one of our cows told my father. That’s when they locked me away in a tower like I was a criminal or something. I stayed there for 5 years. The longest years of my life. And I thought the dragon and I could become friends considering he was the only thing I ever got to see. Well I told him about how I longed to be with a man, and have him seduce me and all my exotic dreams. Apparently he did not wish to hear these things. But any how, every time a saw a good looking young man the dragon just burned him alive. It was horrible.” The detective looked up at her. “How did you feel about being locked away in the tower?” The princess smiled at him, her sexiest smile she could make and answered, “Well, I felt terrible urges, if you get my meaning, and I wanted to be with other humans.” The detective had quit enough of her trying to seduce him and closed his note book. He did not say good-bye to her. He just left the room without saying a word.

When it come time to talk the detective stood in front of the court room. The room was filled with most of the villagers and the servants from the castle. “I have interview the dragon, the king, and the princess. And I have come to the understanding that the dragon is not a murder, the king is a bad father, and the princess is a tramp.” The crowed stared at him in shock and surprises by his words. “The dragon had told me that the young men killed had pulled swords on him. He fought in self defense and I will allow you to call him a killer no longer. The king is who put his daughter in the tower. For “safe- keeping” if you catch my drift. And the princess just has a major addiction to sex and has an inability to keep her legs closed to men.” The detective look at the judge, “If I were you, your honor, I would have the king through in prison for five years like he did his daughter, I would most honestly let the dragon go back to his home, and I would keep your princess from ever seeing the day she becomes queen, because of course, your honor, you can’t have a queen who tramps with every man in the village and still think she can run a kingdom.” The detective left the stand and walked out of the court room. The judge followed a few minutes later. “I think you young detective, for you efforts here today. I have done all that you wished. But what shall we do without anyone to run the kingdom while the charges are taken?” “Well you simply vote on who shall run the kingdom till the kings return.” The detective followed the judge back in to the court room where the judge made the announcement to the towns people. All in all the detective is the temporary king, and the next heir to the thrown because he is married to the king’s daughter. I guess is though was that if they needed a king he would take that place and with the reassurance that the queen was “taken care of” he would rule the kingdom for many years to come. Do not get me wrong. The detective, charming was his name, made a great king for the small village and with no doubt had many nights of great exotic sex with the king’s daughter.
