Icon Coming out of the dark

In the darkness there was this little girl
trying to keep on shining
many tried extinguishing this light
but the little girl shone bright

Alone and afraid
Her light kept her warm
Angry and sad
Her light kept her from harm

Now a woman she stands in the sun
She drove the darkness and demons away
She came out of her cocoon and spread her wings
Sharing her joy and love with those she holds dear
