Amethyst Heart

I’m meant to bring peace
I hold comfort dear
I want to bring it to you
Yet the air feels so heavy,
The currents move around me,
Still erosion doesn’t touch me
My strong little amethyst heart

Keep me near
The truth hurts too much
Let me ward against the spirits of the past
But I feel your grasp
I am the perfect touchstone
A pathway to the chaos that’s rooted in your heart
My naive little amethyst heart

Whisper to me
The evidence of rivers run down your face
I see the shadows sway around us
I thought I knew them well
I was meant to protect you
I started to chip away
At my little amethyst heart

Pull me closer
Let the gold drip from your lips
Melt around me
Clasp this chain around your neck
I let you clutch
My little amethyst heart

And again and again and again
What appears solid as stone
Shatters when it's finally alone..
