Don’t you be afraid, My Friend
Khan Jariff Al Naseeb

Don’t you be afraid, my friend, hold tight,
We will find our joy under the night.
Though alarms scream and skies are grey,
Together we shall face the coming day.

Among the rubble, we find our game,
On broken swings, we laugh the same.
We chase the wind through narrow streets,
Ignoring the fear beneath our feet.

Our homes bear scars, cracks in the walls,
Yet we draw with colored wax.
A sun, a tree, a house in bloom,
On walls, dreams are sketched amidst gloom.

We will share our bread even it’s less,
We hold tightly, clasping each other.
Soft words that break the sounds of fear,
Whispered stories when the bombs are near.

The world outside doesn't know our name,
We are numbers, a passing flame.
But on these streets, we are heroes and kings,
Children who dare dream of wings.

We'll find a world where love will abound,
Where no one will face a cruel fate.
A meadow of flowers on which to lay
And to watch birds that fly away.

What’s the point of wearing suits and being well dressed,
When you don’t have a heart.
Rather, take a weapon and a military dress,
And kill the innocent people.

How can you sleep?
When kids die!

Where is the concern? *(world leaders and organizations are always raising concerns for any war)*
Where is the humanity?
Where is my friend and his family?

We don’t want war’s,
We want harmony.
But how can we have it,
When we have double standard leaders,
Who says one but does another.

They talk and walk like a leader,
But they work as a killer.

We don’t need leaders,
Who cannot stop a war and killing .
We don’t need organizations,
Who cannot save lives.
Do shut down organizations,
Who can only raise concern,
But cannot work on it.

Dear friend,
Your tears may fall but do not let them stay,
I'll be here to whisk them off your face in vain.
For whatever we lose and every single pain,
I promise you we will rise again.

Don’t be afraid, my friend, stand tall,
We'll rise again despite it all.
And when the dawn comes breaking through,
I'll be here waiting, standing right next to you.
Together we will hold an olive branch.
