Fool Me Twice

Post by Hilda Whitter »

A friend of upstairs
And a brotherhood of
Bluecoats at 44
A lady of the night
Yvette is peeking through
peepholes, doors, windows
And listening to walls
To see what she can
Steal, take, or lie about

Creep through the window
With the uninstalled A.C.
With a perforated finger
Hoping to spread the aids disease

In the middle of the night
As I lay on my side
I was awakened by
A crowd of talking people
With tears in my eyes

I felt someone
Grab me from behind
Jump on my back
With a quick finger jab
I was violated!
I turned around to fight
It was Yvette

I tried to grab her
But she ran
I ran after her
while being pin-pricked
by her Gerard Avenue friends

Slowly, I went down
Slowly, I could not talk
Slowly, I could not scream
Slowly, I went down into a deep, deep, sleep
