I've had 3 reviews flagged as AI writing

Post by Catherine Sweet »

I've written 70 reviews for OBC.
My 54th review was flagged as AI writing, and I appealed on the 19th March, but still haven't heard back.
I've carried on doing reviews, but have had two more flagged as AI.
I haven't used AI because I enjoy writing the reviews myself. I used four AI detectors, and they all say my reviews are human-written.
Do OBC need a more advanced AI detector system to avoid flagging human writing as AI?
It's difficult because I want to keep doing the reviews, but I wonder if I'm being a mug because I can't be paid while appeals are pending. I'm owed quite a bit of money, but I won't get it if one of my appeals is rejected.
As I only got one of the AI emails today, it could be months before I hear back.

Help!

I'm going through the same thing. 2 out of my last 5 reviews were flagged. The other 3 were published/not published but counted as complete with no issues, but all my payments are on hold. I submitted my first appeal over a month ago and haven't heard anything, then another got flagged earlier this week. It's incredibly frustrating. I've been doing reviews for years and have an editorial analysis score over 90%, but suddenly everything is getting flagged. I appreciate that they're trying to catch bad actors, but I'm starting to feel really discouraged.

Hi Maggie,
Thanks for your reply.
I feel the AI detection system isn't working, as many genuine reviewers are being wrongly flagged.
My editorial analysis score is 84%.
I'm discouraged too.

Hi there,
I just did my first review and it was rejected as AI. Be aware that many autocorrectors are AI, so if those are being used, that could be the reason why your results are being flagged. Grammerly, Scribbr, etc. All are AI.

Hi Jessica,
I think you're right.
I still use Grammarly for spelling and punctuation, but not for anything else.
I make the changes myself and hope that won't suggest AI has been used.
