I love all of the variety here! How wonderful.

I enjoy most music except for hiphop and fusion jazz. My favorites are Warren Zevon, Squeeze, John Prine, Neko Case, Amy Rigby, Leonard Cohen . . . I could go on and on. I love good lyrics!

hey poomlie can you suggest some good jazz? my jazz experience is limited to what i catch in movies. like the one in the movie 'good night and good luck'. well i am not into any music that comes without lyrics. i would be really grateful if you could suggest some artists or bands.

I love classical music, especially Tchaikovsky. I also love movie soundtracks; my favorite is Danny Elfman's score for Sleepy Hollow. I'm also a Beatles and My Chemical Romance fanatic.

Unlike you guys, I can't really stand classical music. I do tend to like bag pipe music or irish tunes but on a regular basis i listen to emo/scremo and hard core rock.

How nice of you to ask. Here are some that I enjoy, maybe others can add to this list for you.

Loverly - Cassandra Wilson
Diana Krall - A Night in Paris
Herbie Hancock - The Joni Letters
Blue Trane - John Coltrane

I really like Little Feat although they are not always considered jazz. They sound jazzy to me a lot of times.

Most anything by Miles Davis, Branford Marsalis or John Coltrane are good.

These are just some I have liked. I really like Cassandra Wilson and listen to her a lot. I used to listen to Billy Holiday until I heard David Sedaris do an imitation of her and now I only hear him singing when I listen to her. Thank you David.

I am more into John Lennon and Bob Dylan, although MJ is my all time favorite.
