Need the name of a book or set of books...

Post by jasonthemann »

When I was a teenager (Late 80's) I read a trilogy of books that took place in the not too distant future, they took place on Earth, but aliens had conquered the earth and subjugated mankind with a mesh cap placed on each individuals head around they time they hit puberty. The story follows a young man you doesnt want the cap put on and leaves his small town before the ritual is performed to find out what lies beyond the small community he grew up in. The Aliens live in large domes cities and travel the earth in large tripods. You find out later in the trilogy that the aliens hold olympic type sporting events and take the winners to live in their domed cities and serve as slaves. The young man from the first book travels the country side to find a world destroyed by war. He finally meets up with other's like him who did not want the caps put on them. They start a resistance movement and discover Helium and make helium balloons to carry bombs to breach the domed cities the aliens live in. Thats about as much of the storyline as I can recall, but I would love it if someone can tell be the names of these books. I now have a teenage son I would love to share them with. Thanks in advance for your help and ideas!

I don't know about the book you're looking for, but I just got through reading "The Auslesen Seven: In The Land of The Unicorn" by Zachary T. M. Schmitz. I thought it was a great book and I'd suggest it to anyone.
The book takes place between this world and the magical universe. Chris (one of the main characters) finds out that he's magical along with James (another boy on Earth) and they get taken to the magical universe where Chris doesnt' just find out that he's magical, but also the prophesized Chosen One.
I don't want to give too much away, but I am REALLY excited to read the second book. I personally found the Book on Xlibris in their book store. I Like to help out a newer published author by buying new releases straight from their website. But I'm sure it's available on Barnes and Noble or Amazon as well.
So, if you like Greek mythology, Genies, Wars, and magic, this book has it ALL!
