When I turned 21 my then boyfriend (now husband) gave me a handmade book with a story he wrote.
He used my photographic portfolio (I'm a photographer) and built a story around the pictures he "stole" from my portfolio. It was so special and truly a one of a kind present.
He's given me other things, but that was the most memorable :)
He always writes me something on my birthday and, of course, makes me tear up like a baby.

I wrote a "poem" for my sister when I was about 6 years old. I printed it on paper with colorful markers and drew a picture around it. She loved it so much that she framed it and kept it hanging on her wall until the day she died. :)

When my kids were little they'd make hand drawn coupons /vouchers for mothers day, representing various household chores...

This is really very touching.

@Alynn. Yes, that is a really touching story. It made me shed a tear or two.

@ Suzy. Those were the best weren't they? I used to tell mine to write one to massage my feet. Heehee, my daughter hated that one but she did it anyway.....
