How familiar are you with Native American folklore?

Post by Mallory Whitaker »

I honestly didn't know too much about Native American folklore before reading this book. I found the folklore one of the best parts of the book. I'm intrigued to learn more about the folklore of different tribes, especially the Cherokees since there's a reservation near my hometown. How familiar are you with Native American folklore?

It's a topic I've honestly been wanting to learn more about. I have several close family friends whom are of Native American descent, and I'll occasionally get the jokes about rain dances and wigwams. However, each tribe's specific folklore just seems so incredibly rich and dense that it would take eons to learn. Outside of reading for academic research, I haven't really delved too deep into this subject - although I hope to. :)

I've learned some over the years from visiting Native American monuments and villages but it is always a topic I could learn more about. All tribes have different traditions they like to maintain and it is always wonderful to be exposed to such things.
