So it sounds like it is a disconnect from our humanity in a way as we put technological barriers between us and others. We seem to be forgetting, at times, how to actually interact on a personal, face to face level or even in a live voice to voice conversation. We appear to all too often use a multitude of barriers that keep us deliberately separated from others for some reason or other. It seems we lack the trust to show our true selves to people and would rather stay in our protective bubble that all our technology is allowing us to have. If this is the case, then true friendship may disappear one day as our society produces more individuals who are close in proximity to each other, but oblivious to those same people in every other way.Misslav20 wrote:Lately what i have come to dislike about society is our ability to talk to one another without using our phones even when we are suppose to be having an engaging conversation or how easily we pick up our phones to distract ourselves when their are people we know and easily have a conversation with through social media but seem to lack the words so to speak when it comes to being face to face. It makes me miss the days of being a kid (i'm not even 30 yet)!

I'm only twenty and this annoys me too. People ought to speak to each other without relying on a refresh button. These days a person prizes their phone more than friendship or intellect and it's really quite saddening. It's not a fear of technology or progress as some people suggest, it's just a genuine concern about the way people communicate with each other. Talking online is fine ... but we shouldn't forget that we have mouths as well as fingers. It seems the only the time the former is used is when people want to stuff their faces or get drunk. Or, of course, to insult other peoplerssllue wrote:So it sounds like it is a disconnect from our humanity in a way as we put technological barriers between us and others. Here in N.C. greeting strangers in the street, is still a very common occurrence...

Dislike: the blind acceptance of anything and anybody without any knowledge of the facts. I agree with equality for all, but some things just aren't beneficial.
