Thats different.
When I was a kid in northern Idaho, a friend and I were digging around on this hill near our house and we found a scorpion. We told out parents and some other people, but nobody believed us. They said thats nonsense, Scorpions cant live in this climate. But its true. We saw it, it was about 3 inches long with that stinger coiled up over its back.
"I planted some birdseed. A bird came up. Now I dont know what to feed it." Ramblings of a retired senile mind.

When I lived in the country, I would see wild tanuki (it's a kind of raccoon-related animal) all the time. Now in the city, you don't see them. But I saw one in my neighborhood once. That was super rare!!!
In Barbados, I saw some monkeys hanging out in the parking lot of the hotel. One of them was carrying a baby on her back. That's not rare for the locals, but it was rare for me.
And last Christmas, I saw a bald eagle perched in its nest near my sister's house.
I love tanuki!
In Mario Brothers Mario wears a tanuki suit (even though everyone seemed to call it a raccoon suit).
Some people keep them as pets.
And even though they look EXACTLY like raccoons they're canines!

They are so pretty!

I think that that is what the original poster meant. As far as I can tell. :?

OMG I would die from happiness if this happened to me. I love owls so much! I am currently wearing owl earrings and just had owl stickers on my fingernails as part of my Halloween costume for the week.

I didn't see this personally, but a friend of mine regularly photographs an albino raccoon that lives in her neighborhood. It's awesome. It sounds like I have a thing for raccoons, doesn't it?

Omg seriously?!?! Me too!!! I forgot I am also wearing owl socks. And a one year old little boy was dressed like an owl for Halloween and I squealed so loud I made him cry.
I swear we must be long lost twins or something.

Owls ARE SO CREEPY! they give me the willies !,.. :? i'll stick to my teddy bears...

Rare for me, but " business as usual " in some foreign countries...the toilets flush in the opposite direction than ours do ( counter-clockwise, ours. clock-wise theirs )...............my husband told me : " only YOU would notice such a thing "...how could I not ?..............it was like sumpin out of the Twilight zone, until I found out the REASON........

The earh's " gravitational " pull in re to each countries position in relation to the Equator...try flushing your toilet now my fellow Americans , counter clockwise right ?

If not, Houston we have a problem...
" We don't see things as they are but as we are "

Carpe Diem!

I have always thought the swirling in opposite directions was very cool!

Once I was doing a university project at this local archaeological site in Memphis (Chucalissa Indian Village, check it out) and I got to see the behinds the scenes in the museum. There were all these bones and fossils and stuff dug up. I saw a whole deer manidble in there. It was awesome. There are lots of regulations about digging up on sacred American Indian grounds, so it was super rare that I got to see some of the stuff that I did.

OH!!! I once saw a diamond bracelet with my name on it, spelled out in diamonds. It was from the Titantic wreckage.
