After reading Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles and the John Carter books when I was a kid, I wanted to live on Mars. But in reality its not likely I would come across an egg-laying princess or images of long dead relatives, boat trips on the Martian canals and probably not even a thoat. Reality sucks.

For sure. Years ago I read a book from around 1900 called A Honeymoon In Space. It was about a young married couple who went to all the planets in the solar system for a honeymoon, and the adventures they had. I thought that would be kind of a cool way to spend a honeymoon.

They were. Some of those old pulp stories from the 20's and 30's were mostly impossible BS, but still very entertaining.

Hmm... this is a hard one really. I don't think I'd move to a place that I've read about in a book. This stems from the fact that I read mostly fantasy and horror which really isn't too appealing.
